Assalamualaikum Dear Macgyver,
Rase teruja betul dgn yr comment. The previous nite Kalsum asked me y I need 2 do "open" my dairy.I told her that step is rather premature, prompted by the TV3 MHI that day. Otherwise, I would have waited for the right time whereby I could re-write what I had gathered so far from various classes I had been attending.
Thank you for that composition. It reminded me of my original intention.
The last few years I had shared "captions" from my readings with you a few others. Doing so, some commented that I did not sound positive any more about life... cam ne tu. Any response?
Actually I am now "tapping" from Harbour View International House, Wan Chai. Just wanna share with you that my room is facing Hkong International Convention Centre. It is about 5pm here. A bit hazy but still a beautiful view. While the ECT team bz at the trade fair, I duduk di bilik buat kerje yg patut...
Sebelum I sign off ni, I terbaca:
"Siapakah orang yg tertipu? Orang muda yg menyangka kematian berlaku hanya pada orang tua"
TQ Macgyver.
Wassalam

Mastongkol Cont
Hmm... can't really recall when we first met. Was it 1999? Definitely not 2009. Anyway, it doesn't seem to matter now
Again, after a few entry I still have difficulty in locating my "open diary", unlike the buku diary that we kept under pillows some years back...

Masstongkol
FYI, this Masstongkol is a dear friend. I get to know her at the Pasar Tani Shah Alam one hot Sunday morning some years back (was December 2009?). She used to have a nursery at Section 20 and every Sunday she "opened her booth" at the Pasar offering various flower plants and all the necc for week-end gardeners. This Mas is a Malaysia-boleh kind of lady and would deliver what-ever plants or species her customers want. A very creative lady with high energy. Towards end-of Ramadhan she would bring pots of bloomings flowers to her preferred customers . The lady of the house would picked from her choice fr the lorry (just like some housewives selects fishes and veges from "lori sayur").
I used to place big order. At that time I was developing a 6-acre private resort in Janda Baik. The owner was then crazy for exotic & scented flowers, plants & orchids (exotic then, may not be now). For this purpose this Mas drove me Muar a few times to sort of pick the plants myself. Not only I got the plants at best price, but I got managed to established friendships with few nursery managers who gave me advice and tips very useful for my project.
Recalling those memories, most vivid was the right after subuh journey to Muar. I would picked her at Section 7 and this Mas would take the wheel immediately for she could not sabar the way I drive. I marvelled the morning sky from Batu 3 through Tangkak exit. At times it rained & the view could be more sensational. A few times I chanced on doubled rainbows. SubhanaAllah...
Aha.. in the midst of typing this, this Mas phoned pulak... She was on her way to her Petronas Service Station (PSS) in Subang Bistari, with Norida another dear friend. Seven years passed by, this Mas has expanded her activity (yes she classify this as "activity") to a smaller fraction of "black gold" industry....

Not so easy
It sounds so simple, but "berpeloh-peloh". Not possible without help from Shah. & I heard about pre-school children have been doing this...

Farewell
I happened to watch MHI TV3 this am. One of the guests was En Azli Paat who managed to convince "computer-blind" species that it takes only a few minutes to creat an open diary (reads blog)... so this gonna the 1st page of my 2008 log.
This is about farewell party. A person asked for my opinion re the why to organise such jamuan for staff leaving his company for greener pasture somewhere (sometimes far away, but there are cases whereby the new field of lavender is only next door.).
Back in nineteen not not, such farewell was commonly held by colleagues. We went makan2 (nasi beryani Insaf, kari kepala ikan etc). We also collect little sum by pushing envelope around to buy small parting gift (eg pen, photo frames). The admin or HR departments then would only hold "official" gathering for retiring (reads "loyal") staff or staff on secondment to other agencies or overseas posting.
These days things are different, especially in private sector. It seems admin "have" to hold such jamuan for many reasons. Amongst other, it is a small world that we are going to bump on each other, that we make work together in same projects... eg our leaving engineer today may be consultant for a future project that we could be managing or doing... Therefore, as one say "perlu baik-baik tu". There many other reasons and justifications to hold or not to.
Some staff joined the company fresh fr schools. The seniors guide them (on the field, classes, one-to-one, etc) and forgive mistakes (convertable to RM) along the way . After a few years, staff "graduated" and look for better offer, experience and challenges elsewhere. Deep down, I regret that our organisation could not provide such opportunities within. However, the seniors who have "polished" them should be "happy" that their "products" are marketable or highly demanded...Regardless admin is happy to hold small makan2 with them.
